This is the aptly named viperfish. Like most fish found in the deep sea, the viperfish uses bioluminescence to draw its prey in. And then it eats them. With huge teeth that don’t even fit inside of its jaw. Oh, and it’s also thought that they impale their prey by charging into them with those massive spear-teeth. Its dorsal fine is tipped with an organ called a photophore, which is what it uses to produce its light. They are thought to live up to 30 or 40 years, but like most deep sea organisms, they cannot survive in captivity due to difficulty adjusting to the changes in pressure and light.
